The Heurich House Museum and Wikimedia DC will co-host a Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon focusing on DC’s beer history on August 22nd from 12-2pm at the museum to celebrate DC Beer Week.
During the edit-a-thon event, attendees will learn the basics of how to edit Wikipedia by updating articles related to this history of beer in Washington, DC.
Representatives from Wikimedia DC and the Heurich House Museum will be on site to assist with the editing process as well as provide information and resources about Washington, DC’s beer history.
As one of the web’s most visited reference sites, Wikipedia serves as a starting point for many individuals looking to learn about the history of beer in the United States. Wikipedia is an openly editable resource, meaning that individuals can improve the quality and accuracy of Wikipedia entries.
