Message in a Bottle

On Thursday, June 14th from 6-8pm the Heurich House Museum hosts the DC Office of Planning to discuss the excavation of the Capital Hill Shotgun House. This archaeological dig uncovered beer bottles dating back to the 1850s and shed new light on the German immigrant community in Washington, DC.

At this event, attendees are invited to learn more about the history of DC’s beer scene and beer bottling techniques. Guests may also explore the history of the Chr. Heurich Brewing Co. with a special exhibit from the Heurich House Museum’s collection of beer bottles.

Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase during this event. Doors open at 6pm and the discussion will begin at 6:30pm.
